107 E Waldburg · Huge 5 bed, 5 bath in Historic Downtown Savannah

Good Location, Big Bedrooms/Baths, Equipped Kitchen Positive: For a 100-120 y.o. home, it had nice Big bedrooms and very big bathrooms; loved having a second floor front balcony..with tables & chairs.. to see/enjoy the outside and see a bit of Forsyth Park. The [very close] neighbors on either side had none, so privacy outside was great. Very good location. Kitchen was well equipped with pots, dishes, utensils, knives, dishwasher..almost everything we needed. Located in walking distance to Kroger which was great. Also had updated front load stacked washer/dryer, extra large TV, comfortable L shaped sofa in the smaller sized "living" area. The heat/air was comfortable and able to control the thermostat for our comfort. Great & prompt communications and follow-up with Host..checked in on us several times to see how things were going, so I able to provide feedback on items needing attention. Would recommend to others with a few suggestions/adjustments that follow. Negative: ~The negatives (for us), cheap/thin toilet tissue & paper towels (bought more). With the price charged, they should at least provide decent paper products like they would use in their own homes. ~The upper back bedroom mattress was beyond "shot".. deeply divited/sunk in. ~ Very limited towels for the bathrooms..1 towel each (for 2 people) so had to frequently wash clothes..something I did not want to do during vacation.. Should have more bath towels. ~The dryer vent hose was not connect to outside And the lint trap appears to Never be cleaned..solid multiple layers of lint. ~The HVAC air intake filter also never cleaned..the airfilter was clogged solid with dust... so what we were breathing was dirty unfiltered air. ~Floors, especially bathroom tile need a good cleaning/scrubbing...understandably the floors/tiles are very old But still could be cleaned. •The issues with the mattress, dryer & HVAC have been addressed, with photos, with the Host to correct so hopefully those after us won't experience the same. ▪︎Lastly, the cleaning fee is excessive.

There was no water for about the first two hours of the stay, but after several messages with the owner, water was restored. Also, the grill needs maintenance, as the starter was burned out. However, the kitchen was wonderful, and all other amenities were top notch.

The house was a great home base for us as we toured and shopped our way through Savannah and Hilton Positive: We loved the bedrooms and baths. They were all decorated nicely and were remodeled well. Negative: The bedrooms could have each used a luggage rack so you had a place to keep your luggage. The lighting in the common area was very untilitarian, maybe a nice floor lamp or table lamp so you don't have to keep the kitchen lighting on to see.

host was attentive. Could not watch world series as the tv channels did not allow. 2 mattress need replacedfirst fl front. 2nd fl top of stairs. glass door handles fall off. grout on1st floor shower raised and is a cut hazard towel rack missing in one bath and toilet paper bar missing in another. on second thought it should only be a 2 star.

Didn't use balcony. Front upstairs bedroom had loose ready to fall off door knob set in bathroom access door. Front upstairs bathroom shower had non adjustable shower head that made it hard to move shower stream. Back upstairs bed needs to switch out sagging way-too-soft mattress for a much firmer style. Main floor middle bedroom bathroom shower never received hot water even though there was adequate hot water everywhere else in the house. It was a great location and alright facility. I wouldn't have young children as the stairs might be a problem and elders with mobility problems couldn't access the upstairs kitchen and family room area easily. It wasn't the best place I've ever stayed and not the worse. A little above average.
